After the deaths of Michelle and Rose, Max takes up Alex on his offer of a transfer to the DEA and, after the events of the first game, he goes back to the NYPD, this time as a homicide detective.
Adaptational Job Change: In the original games, he is implied to be working in narcotics at the NYPD, due to his liaising with Alex on several cases.
